Have XP Pro running the start menu in the 'classical' mode. There have
been occasional problems with the popups freezing on screen. Now I notice
that if I delete any shortcuts from the Startup shortcut menu, the whole
menu remains frozen on screen.
The underlying icons and windows remain accessible, but the only way to
remove the start menu pop ups is to use Task Manager to log off and
restart.
I used to get a similar problem with the task bar freezing, but got around
this with the 'Task Bar Activate' add on from Kelly's Corner. Now how do
I fix the start menu?
Thanks in advance,
Steve_H
go back to Kelly's and look at tip #117 "restore task bar and start menu"
worth a shot :>
