Re: CD-RW being recognized as ROM
Open My Computer, Right Click your Optical, Left Click Properties.
Check the Recording (TAB) and make sure recording is enabled.
If disks are new media, some drives have sensitivities to certain brands.
My Plextor 708A does not like "Memorex" brand DVD-RW disks.

Hi I am on windows XP and have owned my PC for a year. Today I inserted a
CD-RW into my pc as I have many times before in order to erase it but it
is
being recognised as an ordinary ROM cd. Thinking it may have been a
problem
with this paricular disk I then inserted 5 other CD-RW discs and they too
were all being recognised as ROM audio Cd's. My pc cannot recognize
CD-RW's
anymore. So I am unable to erase them nor am I able to record anything on
them. Can anybody help me out. I am an aspiring musician and this is a
real
blow for me. Thnx alot for your help.
