There might a registry entry which is hiding the Add/Remove Programs from
the Control Panel.
[HKCU\Control Panel\don't load]
Delete the 'appwiz.cpl" in the right-hand pane.

Thanks I found it!
Now I'll put a shortcut on to the desktop.

Do a full search on your XP drive for Appwiz.Cpl, when located
double-click to access directly the Add/Remove capability. This
requires searching with these advanced options checked/tic'd:
Search System Folders
Search Hidden Files and Folders
Search Subfolders

I had to reinstall after a Sys32 crash and now I cannot fine the "Remove
Software" icon in the control panel.
I use the "Classic Microsoft" decor because it is less busy and easier
to read.
Please help, Frank
