I've read a few things on here, but I need some specific help. I exported my registry and saved the file in my docs. I assigned a wrong driver to my usb flash drive and now it crashes pc everytime i plug it in. I tried system restore point, but that didn't work. I tried loading the last known good configuration from startup, but that didn't work. I have the copy of the registry prior to changes, but when I try to load it I get a message stating it was not successful and the pc still crashes when flash drive is plugged in. Is there any way to restore my registry using the copy I've made??? I really need to be able to plug my flash drive in without crashing the thing.

PS. I removed the flash drive from device manager so I cant just go into there and assign a new driver to it either.

As you have found out exporting the complete registry then trying to import that to replace the registry doesn't work. There is, however, a way to do this that works using a program called ERUNT. Here are some links for it.
