This is a shot in the dark, but go to Device Manager and open the
Properties
for the network card / controller. Click on the Advanced tab and select
"Speed & Duplex" below. Change the Value to 10/100/1000 Mb Full,
whichever
number exists and is the highest.

In my cluster of office-peoples I have a healthy mixture of windows XP
pro
and home that access various files (mostly pictures) on a windows 2003
server. One user out of the ten (with an XP home system) is having
horrible
response times from the 2003 server: when she double clicks to open a
folder
on the server it takes 10-15 seconds to open. When she double clicks one
of
the images within that folder it takes another 10-15 seconds to open
(image
files are between 20-250k). Nothing else on her system is particularly
slow
and nobody else has any difficulty accessing those files, be they using
XP
home or XP pro.
Might anybody have suggestions on things I might try? I've looked for
virus/trojan infections, I've experimented with
{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}, diabled the antivirus... any
suggestions would be appreciated.
