Wrong definitions does not mean that the program itself has a bug. It is the definitions that are wrong, but they can be updated and should.

Car makers don't put gas in their cars and, if they did, they wouldn't put bad gas in them. Your analogy is full of holes.
Fact: Defender is a BETA and that means it ain't done yet.
Fact: if you put Defender on a work station, you're an idiot but MS will thank you for testing their software without getting paid and won't do anything to help you if it trashes your computer.
Fact: once it's out of BETA, it won't be free anymore.
