I have a Toshiba Satellite M55 notebook. The hard drive has developed
problems. I find that I can't format the drive, however if I make a
small first partition and then a second partition I can format the
second partition. Obviously the bad spots are at the beginning of the
drive.
I would like to install XP on to the second partition, however the
install program won't do this, telling me that it is the wrong kind of
partition. How can I get around this using the tools on the
installation CD? Is it possible to install XP on to the second
partition?
Regards - Tony
When a disk develops a bad patch, the problem often
spreads to the rest of the disk. Replace it now - laptop
disks don't cost much!
