Hi Jonny,
It was pretty clear, even though poorly written. The user wants to replace a
four port USB2 PCI card with another that has four USB2 ports in addition to
two firewire ports. He/she is curious as to whether the motherboard needs to
support the firewire connection directly. The answer would be no, it relies
on the PCI bus and drivers supplied by the card vendor.
