Hi,
This is from trying to open windows defrag
[With reservation of the translation from swedish]:
" File C:\program\system32.\dfrg.msc can not be opened.
This could be caused by the file doesn't exist, that it isn't a MMC
console or that
it has been created in a later version of MMC. It could also be
caused by not having
the rights demanded to use the file."
It's the same all the time, but other files of cource. I installed
diskkeeper recently and can't open that either - it gives the same message
/Regards

Hi,
I have a notebook with Windows Home Edition and a user account with
administrator priviliges. I can't start any MMC programs with that
account,
nor if I use safe mode and Administrator account.
What can I do?
Could it be that a new installation of F-secure Internet Security deleted
Lavasys or SpyBot applications during is't installation sequence? That
they
couldn't restore something with that quick deletion?
I can't find any MMC folders but one in Registry, ub
HKEY_LOCAL_MASHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\\MMC and it has 3 folders,
Nodetypes,
Setting, Snapins. I read something about there should be a
"RestrictToPermittedSnapins" value somewhere but i find none - is this on
right track? Other?
/Regards
What's the error message when you try?
eg
Start > Run > diskmgmt.msc
or
Start > Run > mmc.exe
or
Start > Run > dfrg.msc
