Re: Where are the screensaver files located at within XP?

I have had this SS for about 5 years now, have never had any problems with
it. There was never an EXE file, the original file name is chute.scr. I have
read the download instructions and it says to drop the file into windows
directory which i have done numerous times. Something in XP this time around
is somehow associating this with notepad. I even went to there website again
and downloaded it and it still does the same thing. here is the site

using for over 5 years now. Thanks

Some screensavers come as an *.exe file. They need to be installed. Double
click on the *.exe file.

What is/was the original name of the file?

Where did you get the file?

Did you read the instructions?

Are you saying C:Windows\System32 ? That is where I have checked and put
the SS file. Also in C:Windows with no results. I even found somewhere
that you have to rename the file to have an SS infront of it
"SSChute.scr" and that didnt work. Any other ideas or do I need to look
somewhere else within the C drive? Also the file icon looks that of a
notepad icon. But when I right click the SS it has "test" "configure"
"install", when I click configure the confure SS comes up, when I click
on install display property comes up and thats it, when I click on test
nopepad opens. This is crazy. Thanks Jeff
