ULguy <ULguy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> hunted and pecked:
Hello to you all !!!

First all my system is Windows XP Home edition 2002, sp2, P4, Auto
updates.

In attempting to change the scheme of my cursor via mouse properties I was
greeted with an error msg that stated this particular scheme file was
missing or corrupt. This repeated for each component of that particular
scheme. In going to C:\WINDOWS\cursors I discovered that it was indeed
missing. In fact, it appears that several schemes were missing ( when
comparing to the Scheme drop down box (Hands, Dinosaurs, Nature,
reptiles, etc)).

I have made some recent changes to my system: 1) replaced a dvd-rom drive
with a dvdrw drive (Lite-on SHW-1635S), 2) installed the associated
software that came with drive (Nero express 6 OEM Suite, 3) installed
Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 Suite C/S, 4) converted my FAT32 system to
NTFS, and 5) went thru the process of cleaning for virus/trojans/malware
following the suggestions in Dave Lipman's article.

For the purpose of this thread only, I am looking to 1) recover/restore
the missing schemes in my cursors file, and 2) be provided with links,
articles, etc. that will help me find, or even better, create my own
scheme.

I appreciate the help I have received in the past and thank you in
advanced in helping me resolve this particular issue. Thanks!

ULguy
