RE: offensive & untrue

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

You are very welcome.
Offering to help someone should never be shunned by any man. The offer in
itself is worth mention. Many don't even want to take the time to do that.
I hated computers when I was told back in 76 I was going to sell them,
when I sold one and a person had a problem, it was ME, hour after hour on the
phone trying to figure out what they did, how they did it etc. Yeah! I am
sure over the years I gave some God awful advice and I am sure over the years
I made alot of people very happy. You learn by Trying, so keep trying and
everyone knows when they come to these type of boards to be careful. So hey,
I salute you for trying and offering your time and assistance. Don't ever
stick your nose in the air and always be willing to help.
Head up, chest out and be proud that you are one of the very few that
would even offer to help. Failures are what people learn from and there are
only TWO kinds of people on this Planet
1. THOSE WHO HAVE
2. THOSE WHO WILL

a thousand thank you's i was just about to sign off for good, but reading
your post has just put a big smile on my face, like you said im no expert but
i try to help as best i can and if i can find a post that relates to one im
looking at and it has an answer then i will copy that in my reply, and yes
99% of the time i will tell them that its from a previous post.

at least this way it saves all these so called experts from answering again,
and it least the poster has an answer and i thought it was all about helping
people solve a problem no matter how you get to the answer, its only the same
as people pasting in links to ms answers or kellys corner, thanks a million
again, pete ;-)

Pete,

Don't worry about it, there are a few here who think they are the
Allotollah of PCs and I have seen answers that have made me shrudge. When
people advise others to hook their PCs up to an Amplifier thru the headphone
jack for one example, they are quite possibly going to fry the guys INPUTS,
but some people feel if the plug fits the hole then it must work... TSK

Do your best, offer to lend a hand and tell them up front you aren't a
rocket sciectist. If you feel your answer is correct then post it as such.
Don't listen to all of these whahoos, there is some damn good advice on these
boards and some not so good advice, let the poster be the judge.

Good Luck and keep on trying.

dear people

i have been posting for a while now and people have thanked me for my
help, but i have now been told to stay away and that i do more harm than
good, i feel this is unjust to say the least, i thought it was a good thing
to try and help people and i dont think that i have put anybodys pc at risk,
as you will see below i have been slated for helping people, please let me
know your feelings on this..

as posted by Malke

"But you *aren't* helping anyone. You don't quote properly and you give
ridiculous answers that at best are useless and at worst could cause
some real damage to the OP. If you were really a "nice guy" you'd
change your ways or find another venue in which to "help" people."
