My machine also had a problem with installing the Net Framework
Service pack 1.1 update after download. I deleted it and downloaded
the Microsoft framework 1.1 redistributable package, but was unable to
get it to install even after running the Netframework cleanup tool. I
then deleted the HP Printer completly, and noticed while it was being
reinstalled that the Net Framework files were on the HP disc and were
also installed. This eliminated the Fatal execution error 0x7927baca
(A google search seems to indicate this could be a windows problem)
and all the other error messages. The latest net framework undate also
installed sucessfully. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS.
My (rhetorically) real question is why would you use .NET for a printer
utility ?
Because .NET makes programming easy(ier), which
leads to BAD programming due to laziness and Marketing
wanting to get the code out there before you're done
with it.
Having said that, it also lends itself to careful, good
programming, which unfortunately, is NOT seen
often enough.
This has gotten way out of hand.
No kidding.
