I don't know what the happened with my computer at home. I was
getting errors whenever I opened Internet Explorer saying I had a
corrupt file and it said to run scan disk. OK, no problem so I did
that. Well I reboot the computer and all of a sudden all 3 of my
profiles are asking for a password. WHAT??? Only one was ever
password protected, not the Admin one, and that password isn't
working. I NEVER created passwords on the other profiles! Even
hitting 'enter' without a password won't let me through to Windows.
(Windows XP) Is there some kind of default password? Did I get some
kind of virus or trojan horse? No, I'm not some kind of hacker
trying to get into a computer. Just an average Joe wondering what
they heck happened to his computer. How is this possible?!! I can't
email Microsoft because they require a product code that is listed
under 'My Computer' which I can't access!!! Can anyone help?

Log in to the built-in Administrator Account and re-set the
passwords in Control Panel-Users
To do this, in XP Home edition, boot into Safe Mode. In XP Pro, at
the welcome screen, press Ctl-Alt-Del twice, when the W2K style
login box should appear.
If your version of XP came pre-installed, then there is probably no
password for this account.

Thank you very much! I will try it tonight!!

YW - you *do* have antivirus and antispyware programs installed and are
using a firewall, I presume?
