Hi: PA Bear:
Thanks for the time you spent SO much offering the sites along with a GOOD
knowledge/information.

However, currently I've been changing from 'Dial-Up' to 'DSL,'
and DSL sent a 'wrong/bad' Modem, then they said another 'good'
modem will be shipped within few days.

So, now .... rather than concentration on 'Update,' I need to concentrate
MORE for 'Internet' Connection/Service. Without I.E., SP 2 doesn't
mean anything.

In the meantime, I say 'thanks' to you spending time to write SO many sites
that hopefully giving a good resolution on this problem.

When DSL starts running smooth, I plan to work on SP 2/Update.

BTW, For a wrong/bad modem, I spent whole morning calling/asking its
provider.

When all else fails, HijackThis
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware.

other appropriate forum for expert analysis, not here.**

3. Do not install SP2 until an expert gives your HijackThis log a clean
bill of health.

How did you remove most of SP2? Normally you would
either remove all or none? Please describe the process.

You should install SP2 and then tackle any issues that arise.
Uninstalling is not the best way forward.

In the past when I installed SP 1, there had a problem 'very slow,'
then I didn't surprise this to happen. However, SP 2 installation
went so
smooth that I thought this time, SP 2 was OK. But, same thing
happened. No difference from SP 1 installation.

Later when I tried to log on, I needed to wait about five minutes to
get I.E., thus
I had no choice but removed most of SP 2.

Hopefully, MS fixes this problem soon.

How much RAM memory?Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task
Manager and click the Performance Tab. Under Commit
Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

What is your CPU processor speed? Right click on your My
Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties to get
this information and the amount of RAM memory.

How large is your hard disk and how much free disk space? In
Windows Explorer right click on your C drive and select
Properties.
