You do not have any choice, the program vendor/creator decides if you're
gonna use InstallShield, Windows Installer or whatever.
I would supect that they go with the low bidder. LOL
Not every application of InstallShield is gonna have that Update Service
either.

Thanks for this helpful link....it clears up my confusion. Is there any
downside to using InstallShield, other than the minor hassle of dealing
