When you get your mess all sorted out, I highly recommend
that you do not plan on using any Norton products after the
Norton System Works 2003, and that you ONLY use THAT for the
system maintenance utilities, and NOT for AV.

I have been using Norton System Works 2003 since it came
out, and I LOVE it, and recommend it highly. I've heard
nothing but problems from 2004, 2005, and now 2006.

"Stick with what works."

One of my Internet buddies just upgraded from 2003 to 2004
and then 2005. When she finally gave up on 2005, she swore
she'd never use Norton products again. I think I talked her
into going back to 2003, which they still support.

For AV, I have gone with AVAST4 (free), which works just
fine. You could also try AVG, if you want 2 AVs that don't
conflict with one another.

Also be sure you have AdAware Pro, which is free, and
SpyBot, which is also free, and both of those update for
free as well.

I also sprung earlier this year to buy SpySweeper, and got
the 2-year subscription

Between AVAST4, AdAware, SpyBot, and SpySweeper, I am very
protected, and 3 of those 4 are FREE.

Go to

www.download.com

and you will find all of the above.

Where you'll find a free copy of Norton SW 2003, I couldn't
tell you. A friend gave me a copy, but it's worth having.

One other-- two others you should look at are
Crap Cleaner (registry/system maintenance)
and

Reg Cleaner

both are also free.

Good luck!
