Does this happen with all windows machines connected to that server ? If so
it could be a simple connectivity issue?
When you check the event log what errors do you see?
Do you see:
Userenv errors?
Domain Controller not reachable?
Can you successfully ping the server?
Can you resolve the server by host name?
This could be caused by simply bad DNS config info or a HW issue?
Can you browse to that server once your logged on locally? Even if you have
to authenticate?
