It would seem that the CD should be working to aid in solving the rest of
your problems.
It's quite possible that the CD Drive (Hardware) is broken after a year of
use. It's also possible that an interface cable is loose. Most current CD
Drives require no drivers other than those that are part of windows (DVD use
does require additional software). If the CD Drive cannot be used to boot
from, bad hardware or BIOS settings are likely the culprit.
If you were using Raid in the past, I would think that you would have
problems in addition to those you mentioned, since evidently a "needed"
driver is missing.
It would really help to know some details concerning your system
Mother Board make and model, support chipset, BIOS version, etc.
Ethernet support chips or interface card
Processor
Type of hard drive(s) installed
What type of windows CD do you have?
(Retail, OEM, Restore, None)
Is anything disabled in bios that is related to the Raid controller or
ethernet controller(s)?
Is the ethernet port a high speed (1Ghg) port & is there more than one port?
Can you remember any out of the ordinary events that ocurred just before you
started having problems?
