I don't suggest using Stinger (because it is very limited and rarely
updated) or online virus scanners because most malware is active in
Regular Mode and when your computer is online. It is better to scan
offline and in Safe Mode.
Start by scanning with either Sysclean or David Lipman's Multi-AV:

After the initial scanning, if you don't have a full-featured current
version antivirus installed (not earlier than 2004) with an active
subscription and updated definitions, get and install one. Then update
its definitions and do a thorough scan in Safe Mode.
After your scanning for viruses is finished, continue scanning for
malware (again with updated tools in Safe Mode) per these steps:
