Hi, Ramesh -
The Services console lists of dependencies for MSMQ, and their current state
is:
Distributed Transaction Coordinator (Started - Manual)
| --> Remote Procedure Call(RPC) (Started - Automatic)
| --> Security Accounts Manager (Started - Automatic)
|--> Remote Procedure Call(RPC) (Started - Automatic)
Message Queuing access control (Not listed in Services)
NT LM Security Support Provider (Started - Manual)
Reliable Multicast Protocol driver (Not listed in Services)
Remote Procedure Call(RPC) (Started - Automatic)
Server (Started
- Automatic)
Services which are not listed in the Services System Console:
Reliable Multicast Protocol driver = %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\drivers\RMCast.sys
OK - RMCast.sys does exist.
Message Queuing access control
Could not find any info about this on MS site. May be an MSMQ class.
I have also tried dropping MSMQ and re-installing it, and I've tried
dropping MSMQ, cleaning out all references to MSMQ from the registry, and
then re-installing MSMQ. I always get the same error:
"The MSMQ service cannot be started. Error code: 0x42C. Error description:
The dependency service or group failed to start."
I have also tried deinstalling all the IIS services and re-installing them,
then re-installing MSMQ. Same error as above.
BTW, this same problem occurs on three different XP boxes. All have all of
the latest updates and patches applied, and none have any other problem
running any application or service.
Thanks for your response -
Mike
