You can backup the entire registry with complete restore capability by
using the WinXP utility ntbackup. Go to Start/All
Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Backup. Back up "System State" which
includes the Registry.

If ntbackup is not installed on your computer, you can use your
installation CD to manually install the utility. Browse the CD, and if
my memory serves me, I believe you will find it in the "value added"
folder.
