just plug in your headset and mic into their respective plugs.
to adjust the volume of your mic, you can:
-double click on the speaker icon on your system tray
-click options > properties > recording radio button
-make sure that the mic checkbox is checked
-click ok
your volume control when then shift to recording control and you can control
the volume of your mic from there.
i haven't tried skype yet, the reason why i can't help you much as regards
controlling the volume/recording levels using its interface. nevertheless,
you can control your volume/recording levels from the volume control on your
system tray, and specifically, recording levels as described above.
hope this helps.
regards!
