I have XP Home SP2.

I can select a screen saver which comes after 5 minutes of inactivity. But the pc does not go into standby mode after 15 mins which I select from Monitor Power > Turn off monitor After 10 mins and > System standby After 15 mins.

The Power Scheme I have selected is Energy Star. In the past my pc would go into standby mode after 15 mins. and when I come back to it afterwards and shake a mouse the monitor will turn on.

But now I only get the screen saver after 5 mins and then the monitor is on then screen saver after 5 mins and the cycle is repeated. There is no standby mode where the power light of my pc would flash until I shake the mouse. Please assist. Thank you.
