In this last regard, with jumpering your hard drive to another machine
using XP, I just got a cable that changes the IDE drive to a USB
drive, and it also comes with the power supply. All you get/ all you
need is the IDE - usb adapter and the power jumper.

As I recall, the documentation that came with my adapter cable was
incorrect. You need to set the jumper on the HDD as "CS."

As opposed to, if you are jumpering for a CD Burner, you set the
burner's jumper to "Slave."

Again, if all else fails, this step will allow you to get your data
files off CHEAPLY. I paid less than $20 for my IDE - USB cable
adapter.

Good luck!
