What changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?
This isn't normal behavior for XP Home. Are you running any kind of
third-party security software to manage users and permissions in a more
fine-grained fashion than is natively available with XP Home? What did
you change from the default when you set up the user accounts?
And just in case - what is the virus/malware-status of the computer? If
you think it is clean, what did you use to determine this? Please
include the names and versions of the programs and whether your
antivirus subscription is active.
