Re: ISO way to completely wipeout a file

I understand that putting a file in the trashcan and emptying the
trashcan does not really delete a file; the contents are still on
the disk, and it is possible, at least in the short term to recover
them.

I want to completely wipe out a couple of sensitive files from my
computer.

I've found recipes for completely wiping out an entire hard drive,
but nothing for individual files and folders. I've also found some
rather expensive software to do this.

I'm looking for an inexpensive way to do this. (BTW, I'm not at
all averse to using the cmd.exe command line interface.)

Thanks in advance!
