If I boot up my laptop with a CD or DVD in the optical drive,
everything works normally. HOWEVER, If I boot up my laptop with NO CD
or DVD in the optical drive, I cannot use said optical drive until I
reboot with a disk of any sort in the drive.
I removed the drivers for the optical drive and everything worked
normal and fine until the first time I rebooted with a disk of any sort
in the optical drive, now it's back to it's old habits again.
Any thoughts on this strange happening would help.
