I need help. I have an icon left in my control panel - CMI Audio Config - that wont remove after unstalling C-Media sound driver from Microsoft download. No way to delete the driver. It conflicts with my NVIDA driver so I have NO SOUND

Are you still having problems with the C-Media driver? If the only component of the software that was left is the control panel icon you might be able to simply run a search for the icon and remove it. To do this you would do a search for all files named *.cpl and look at the list that comes up. You may not recognize the file at first because you will only see file names. If you open one of the files in the list, the corresponding control panel window will open. Look for the item that might correspond to the C-media sound software. If you are not sure try to open it, and it should give you an error telling you the software could not be found. You should be able to simply delete this file. Alternatively you could just rename it so it does not show up, this way you will still have the file just in case you need it.
