You're welcome!
how did this happen without me going in
I don't have an answer to this question. Also, I've seen cases where there are 3-4 such entries, and only one of them causes the problem.

That did the trick! Thank you so much! now the obvious question, how did this happen without me going in and changing the registry in the first place?
"Ramesh, MS-MVP" <ramesh@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:OGMBODR9FHA.2176@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxOpen Regedit.exe and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Double-click the entry named "Dell QuickSet" and add double quotes to the existing data:
- - - C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\quickset.exe so that it becomes: "C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\quickset.exe" - - -
Similarly, navigate to here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Double-click the entry named "DellSupport" and add double quotes to the existing data:
- - -
C:\Program Files\Dell Support\DSAgnt.exe /startup
becomes
"C:\Program Files\Dell Support\DSAgnt.exe" /startup
- - -
Close Regedit.exe Logoff-login back to see the results.

"Jeff Schmidt" <Jeff.Schmidt@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:eY7SZ8P9FHA.1292@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI'm having a similar problem with a folder opening, but it's not the my documents folder, it's C:\Program Files\Dell
I looked through the registry to locate the keys you indicated here, and all is well. Any help in trying to identify why this is happening would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I recently upgraded to Windows XP Pro SP2. I have one problem. Whenever I
login, "My Documents" opens up automatically. The registry editor is
version 5.1, and I have already tried an edit from www.kellys-korner-xp.com,
but it's set for registry editor version 5.0.
Any solutions?
