I am running windows xp sp2 and my husband has windows 2k.
Yesterday we finally! got dsl installed. We are networked and both
able to be online at the same time, but while he can download email,
all I get is an error message "an error occurred with the POP3 mail
server. Mail server pop.xxx.xxx responded:" and that is it. I have
tried everything I can possibly think of to fix this situation, but
no luck. Any of you brains have any ideas for me?
What E-mail client software are you using? Have you set it up
properly with the correct pop2 server name?
Sorry for the typo. I mean POP3, of course.
Yes, everything was working fine until the dsl was installed. I have
checked and rechecked my settings -
they are identical to the settings on my husband's computer. I am using
Thunderbird 1.0, and he is using
Netscape 7.1. But I also tried to get the email through Netscape and
Outlook, and have the same problem.
There is no error number.
