You are not representative of Joe Average computer user, and I have no doubt
that you maintain your networks very well.. but you are no stranger to these
newsgroups, and have seen as many problems related to Norton as anybody.. I
have also ceased recommending McAfee, a long time favourite of mine, for the
same reasons that I will not entertain Norton..
I have to speak as I find, and do not possess little enough integrity to be
able to recommend something that I consider bad or would not use myself..
I have other issues with Symantec, after a bout of beta testing, that I do
not feel were resolved satisfactorily, but this is no vendetta.. I believe
that there are better, more capable products available such that computer
users do not have to resort to Symantec/Norton products..
I do, however, commend Symantec on their ability to market their products to
the point where "Norton's" has become the most recognised name in it's
field.. they catch many people out daily in the same way as Pepsi does..
