You haven't really provided enough information to get focused
troubleshooting. Here is a link which explains the sort of details you
should include in your newsgroup post so you can get accurate help:

http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm

In the meantime, determine what sound hardware is in your computer. If
you have an OEM machine (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.) go to the OEM's tech
support website for your specific model machine and look up the specs.
If you have a generic computer, either look at the paperwork you got
when you bought it or use a free system inventory program like Everest

Then try uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers. Get the drivers from:

1. The card mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

If you have installed drivers from Windows Update, you can roll them
back:

If you need more help, come back with more information per the "good
post" link I gave you.
