I get this error over and over. Logon failure Target account name incorrect.
Please supply full details about what exactly you're doing, with actual share names etc.
I am trying to set up workstation XP pro to a server domain name with
Milford.
I can use dhcp or a static IP address. I can login to domain. I can
connect
to our exchange server. I can connect to isa server. I can ping all addresses. I cannot map network drives for any user on this pc. The error
I
get is "Target account name incorrect" Logon fails. I have rename
computer.
reloaded XP, swapped out NIC cards. Ipconfig /release/renew. I will appreciate any help. I have a dns address and win address.
Got any clues?
What messages do you get when you start a Command Prompt and type this line:
net use x: \\YourServer\SomeShare
Logon failure: The target account name is incorrect
I have experienced a similar problem lizard. Have you checked the event log? Is there any failing services in there?
