What sound card does the HP laptop use and have you gotten
any updates on the sound card drivers?

| Hello. I have a HP ze5300 with 768 RAM and 60GB running on
WinXP Home
| SP2. The laptop runs fine but... it won't recognize usb
speaker when I
| plug them in. I've tried 2 different type of speakers
(logitechs V20
| and Creative TravelSound Notebook 500) and neither worked.
| Speciifically, I would get a small yellow popup window
saying the usb
| device is not recognized , click for help. Then a usb root
propoerties
| window would come up listing device status : reconnet the
device. i
| would do that, and the same process would occur. I
unisntalled all usb
| devices in device manager, rebooted, and still got the
same result. My
| mouse and printer work fine via usb.
|
|
| I have a flash memory card that doesn't work via usb too,
but the
| speakers are more important to me. ;^)
|
|
| Thanks for your help. Is there any way out of this? I mean
I would
| really like to stick to usb speakers since I travel often
with the
| laptop.
