When I open a directory that show files as icons, windows XP shows first a general icon (for each type of of file) and then starts to
draw, slowly, the specific icon for each file. It only happens the
first time that I open each directory, but is very annoying. Does
anybody have an idea how to correct this? Among the things I already
did are cleaning up the registry and defragment the hard drives.
I also noticed that the desktop is refreshed frequently, although I
don't know if this is related to the first problem.
