Make sure you run Adaware and Spybot from safe mode. Also make sure you have
the latest versions and updates. If need be download the latest versions and
updates to the win98 pc and burn them to CD or email them to the XP pc. You
should also download and run lspfix

Again, you will have to do this from the win98 pc and then transfer it to
the XP pc.

Once you have access to the Internet again the first thing you should do is
get an up to date antivirus. If your version of McAfee can't be updated
online then uninstall it and get a different one. Waiting until the
university is back online is not an option.
