Miscellaneous .txt and .log files should be retained. They often contain the information required to uninstall a program. If you delete
the wrong ones, you'll be unable to uninstall programs you previously
installed.

| Hello, experts:
| They other day I did a search for ".txt" and got over 900 hits of various
| text documents. Some go back as far as to the time I put my machine into
| service. (2001, HP 750c) There are logs and other info that I feel is no
| longer needed, including info on when SP1 was installed. (I now have SP2). It
| seems that these files take up a lot of disk space and I would like to remove
| them. Is it safe to do this. I appreciate your reply.
| Thanks,
