RE: WinXP and HP ScanJet 5300cxi scanner installation issues

I also am having a similar problem. I have had difficulty in running an
Epson 880 Inkjet printer on my Windows XP operating system. The printer did
not originally come with XP drivers, but I downloaded them from the Epson
website. They installed fine, but the computer does not recognize the
software, I believe. It recognizes new hardware is installed, the USB cable
is fine, etc. I've run all the troubleshooting tips from Epson and Windows.
Nothing works. My question is, is this printer comaptible with XP? If not,
why does Epson provide drivers for XP?
