Gen Host and spoller sub syatem

Morning All
I have a couple of ?problems? with my new computer using XP PRO

1.
After booting and switching to my profile (admin rights) I get a pop up from
Zone alarm telling me "spooler sub systems" is trying to access the
internet.
I deny access because I don't know why it needs access and what it is
looking for. I can continue without any apparent problems

A couple of minutes later I get told that "Generic Host Processes" is
wanting to allow connection FROM the internet. Again I deny without any
apparent problems

What reasons are there for the above access requests? Are they Legit?

If my computer is left on for a while - 2 hours -(although all users are
logged off) I cannot connect to my server (Using ADSL). I have to reboot and
can then operate normally.
(I have mailwasher pro on the start up menu to run when I log on.)

Any assistance would be appreciated
