I find that the defaults for Windows works quite well for me. I've
experimented with these different settings/formats over the years and haven't
found a great benefit to any of them.

If you've got the Temp and Swap areas on your 1 drive, that's ok. It
doesn't really matter if they're in separate partitions - but it does make
some chores easier.

Personally, I have 2 physical drives in my system. The primary contains all
my programs, the operating system, the temp directories and the swap file.
The secondary contains all my backkup-able stuff - settings, profiles, and
data. I used to have the secondary formatted for FAT32 - for ease of
recovery. But recently have switched to all NTFS because of the tools that
are available on the internet.
