XP client lockups?

Having a strange problem with a all XPpro clients that start locking up in
the evening (around 5 to 7pm) while accessing network resources (apps, docs,
printing). They are totally fine during the rest of the day. It's not
consistent at all as far as a time and I haven't been able to track down
what is causing it. I've checked event viewers on all including the server
(2003 std AD) and nothing appears to be happening at the time of the
lockups. Nothing is scheduled to run on the server or clients during that
time. I am out of ideas.

I know that this is a difficult problem to suggest fixes for, but if anyone
has any ideas at all, they are greatly appreciated.

Single Windows Server 2003 AD: Veritas Backup Exec 9.1, Symantec Antivirus

XP pro sp2 clients: Symantec Antivirus
