If you bought your new hard drive retail, it will have come with a cd
with a copying utility on it. If you got the drive whitebox or it
didn't come with the utility, download it from the drive mftr.'s
website. You will attach the new hard drive in the system as slave,
leaving the original drive in as master. Then boot with the utility and
follow its instructions. When it is finished, remove the original drive
and put the new one in its place as master. After you've booted into
Windows, you can then shut down and add the old drive as slave for
storage space if you like. Jumper it properly and then format it from
within Windows (Administrative Tools>Computer Management).
