Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance



It sounds like this is getting to be a full-time job. I'd suggest using the
Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to save the files and settings on the
system (beware of saving any internet or network program settings) and then
doing a low-level format and clean install of XP.

It'll probably take less time than troubleshooting the issue.
