Windows XP prof. Stuck on Shut down

Hi:

We have a Dell Optiplex w/windows XP prof. And it is getting stuck on
'windows is shutting down' screen. It is saving the settings.

I have read about it getting stuck on 'saving the settings' but that's not
were ours is getting stuck. Is this the same problem?

Any help would be great.
