RE: VISTA Operating System

I started working on this as soon as they accepted me as a beta tester. First
it is beta 1. Lots of stuff left over from the Longhorn mess. It takes work,
concentration and a don't give up attitude to get this proggie to look and
work better. All the work needed isn't going to be done by the beta testers
but our suggestions and rants to the Vista team are being acknowledged and
acted upon. The security features are maddening to deal with but once you
figure them out, no sweat. Installing applications and drivers requires an
almost criminal mind to figure out. Today I got one of the most graphics
intensive games installed and working well (Uru, Complete Chronicles). IMHO
this is a diamond in the rough. It should be polished by the time many of us
will be needing to upgrade our hardware and things should begin to come
together. Trust me, the folks in charge of this project really seem to care
and respond immediately to problems and questions. I think once Vista becomes
more sophisticated there will be no going back to legacy platforms like XP.
