Thanks for explaining the difference between caddy and enclosure. I thought
the terms were interchangeable, but on the basis of your explanation, it is
an enclosure to which I am referring.
I did have the HDD set as master to start with, but as per my earlier
posting have tried it in all three configurations (master, slave and cable
select). No luck, obviously.
I am using the USB cable which came with the enclosure, but to be sure have
just tried it with a cable carrying the USB 2.0 label, and it doesn't work
just as efficiently.
The USB port is one I use for downloading filed from my camera Microdrive
via a Card Reader without any problems. (It still works, I've just tested it
to make sure!)
The chip on the circuit board of the enclosure is marked: Ali M5621 A1 0443
TH07.
