Re: Ungenuine to genuine

Hi Firquin,

You will need to perform a repair install of XP, using the product code from
the genuine version of XP. Here are instructions, provided courtesy of
Michael Stevens, for performing a repair install:
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm
If you have an always-on connection to the internet (cable, for example),
disconnect the modem from your computer before performing the install. If
the version of XP that you are installing is bundled with Service Pack 2,
then the Blaster and Sasser worm patches are included in that service pack.
If not bundled with SP2, once the install is complete, enable the XP
Firewall before reconnecting the modem to your computer and ensure that you
d/load and install the Blaster and Sasser worm patches before doing anything
else.
