Re: XP Home Installation Disc

My computer came from the manufacturer with Windows XP Home already installed. I recently developed a problem that the manufacturer says requires me to insert the Windows XP disc. I don't have a disc, and never did have one. The manufacturer insists that they did ship one with the computer, but it does not appear on my invoice. The manufacturer utterly refuses to supply me with a disc now. They claim that I had to report any missing software within 90 days of receiving the machine. Well, the XP came pre-installed, and the disc is not listed on the invoice, so how was I supposed to know it was missing?

Why in the world would you have not expected to have received the installation disk, invoice or not? Didn't you bother to ascertain exactly what you were going to receive for your money *before* committing to the purchase? For that matter, why didn't you just look in the box and go through *all* of the documentation and other material before discarding it?

How do I get a disc without having to pay anything for it?

At this point, you probably can't. But the cost of a replacement CD from the manufacturer should be nominal.

Yes, I do have a registration number. Please provide a link to an exact address where I can get this disc. Prefer you email me directly at moldreaker@xxxxxxxxxx Thank you very much.

We can't do so, as you haven't told us who the computer manufacturer is. With OEM licensing the PC manufacturer has sole and complete responsibility for all support issues, to include lost installation CDs.
