Windows XP SP2 explorer.exe
Hello,
A virus has damaged (Or completely replaced, I'm not sure) explorer.exe on
my Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 2) computer, and I don't know what
to do.
I've tried a number of anti-virus packages, all that seem to *know* there's
a virus present but none of them seem to know what to do about it, heh.
I'm currently using LiteStep (A free, Open-Source alternative to the Windows
shell,) but I want my explorer back:(
Besides formating the main drive and re-installing Windows (I don't want to
lose my settings or data,) what options do I have? Is there a tool I can use
to replace my explorer.exe with the one on my XP Home Edition CD?
I used sfc (System File Checker,) but it doesn't do anything. It runs and
then exits without doing a darned thing.
